The CCSVI Australia launch is to celebrate CCSVI Australia becoming an incorporated organisation. We did this so that we can start fundraising to support CCSVI trials in addition to our usual patient advocacy work! We’ve made The Nerve Centre in Melbourne our headquarters. Here’s some videos from our launch.
Kerri Cassidy did a wonderful job as MC, explaining the reason why CCSVI Australia has organised, and finally become incorporated (speech recorded).
We were honoured to host the distinguished group of speakers displayed in the photo above.
1. Federal Member for Latrobe, Laura Smyth, spoke of her admiration for our patient advocacy and encouraged our future efforts (speech recorded).
2. Interventional Radiologist, Dr Manfred Spanger, demonstrated his experience treating CCSVI using angioplasty and his compassion for the patients (speech not recorded).
3. Dr Helen Kavnoudias, showed her strength when explaining the effort required to move the CCSVI trial at The Alfred forward despite some hurdles. So much has been achieved, but there is still a long way to go (speech recorded).
4. Bill Younger, former CEO of MS Australia (ACT/NSW/Vic) expressed his conviction that treatment of CCSVI can help relieve some symptoms of MS, given the inspiring examples he’s had first hand experience of (speech recorded).
