Balwyn Rotary donates $50,000 to CCSVI Australia for Research
Representatives of CCSVI Australia, Jennifer Robinson and Helen Webb, attended Balwyn Rotary on Tuesday 9th December to receive a cheque for $50,000.
This contribution will be directed to research of Neurovascular irregularities commonly found in people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Guest speaker, Dr Helen Kavnoudias, presented on a study at The Alfred Hospital investigating the potential that treating these abnormalities in the venous system may improve the quality of life of people with MS. Dr Kavnoudias described the trial process and the challenges they have overcome to further this research. Her presentation stimulated a lot of interest as many in the room knew someone with MS.
We would like to extend our grateful thanks to Balwyn Rotary for their support. It means a lot to us, as people with Multiple Sclerosis, that you are willing to help us progress understanding of the importance of blood flow and drainage for those with neurological conditions.
